*Hexagon Swap*

Hexagon Swap Information Page

Come join us for our first Hexagon Swap!  If you love English Paper Piecing as much as we do, then this swap is for you!  All are welcome, and we encourage everyone to read the following guidelines to make this a very successful swap.

  • For as often as you like, and for as many as you like (online participants will need to send postage, but more on that later) we will exchange 1" hexagons for those that you send us here at the shop.  For local participants, just come on into the store and pick out your own.
  • To be fair to everyone, we will assign a theme to start so that everyone will exchange the same kind of fabrics.  The quantity that you send in or bring in will be the quantity that you will get back.

Our theme for our swap:  Small floral, or calico prints

Please limit duplicates sent to 4 per print

Requirements:

  • To maintain correct and consistent measurements of the hexies, for this swap we require all hexagon paper pieces be purchased from our shop.  This ensures that all hexagons will be the same size and accurately cut.  This swap will require these 1" hexagons.
  • You may use your stash, as long as it is 100% quilting cotton - no synthetics or synthetic blends whatsoever.  Synthetics will be returned at your expense.
  • Please label the back of your hexagons on the papers with your state abbreviation, and if you are from outside of the US, your country (this will let the recipient know where their hexies came from!)
  • For online customers only - you will need to send along with your finished hexagons $1.00 per 25 hexagons for postage (For example, if you send 50, you'll need to include 2.00 for postage.)  Check, money order, or payment through Paypal is acceptable payment for your postage.  Cash is strongly discouraged.  For payment through Paypal, we can invoice you via your email address, and you can pay with whatever method you choose at that time.  All hexagons should be sent to us in a waterproof bag (ziploc bag is fine) at the following address:
The Calico Cottage
1460 Fall River Ave
Suite 10
Seekonk, MA 02771

**Please include your shipping address so that we may send your hexagons to the proper place.
  • All hexagons must include the papers, please do not remove them prior to shipping.
  • You may use whatever method you like, glue basting or running stitch, as long as they are dry-ironed flat - please avoid steam ironing your hexies as they will shrink.
  • International customers are always welcome - please email us at info@thecalicocottagequiltshop.com to get the proper amount of postage to include before you send out your hexies.

This swap is meant to renew your love for English Paper Piecing, and to have some fun in the process.  Please let us know if you have any questions at any time.
